Every Christian that is not in heaven still struggles with sin. Many struggle with addictions. Addictions to marijuana, to alcohol, to pornography, to gambling, to overeating, to shopping, and so many other sins. Is there any hope in breaking the chains of addictions? Since many Christians struggle with the sins of addiction they begin to doubt their own salvation. What can a believer do to escape…to overcome their sin?
Spiritual revival only starts when there is a move of God. When in the presence of the glory of God’s holiness, we cannot but fall down and worship him. In the presence of God’s holiness, we become undone, breakdown, and confess of our uncleanliness. Under these circumstances, God offers his grace and cleansing. If we accept, God will purge us of our sin. We are now ready for the final step of spiritual revival, God’s calling and our joyful obedience to his calling. See below for Bible commentary and advice on spiritual revival.
Revivals and awakenings are times of great outpouring of God’s Spirit. By definition they are excessive. It is like Christmas. And while the idea is appealing, Christmas doesn’t happen every day. In fact, life would be quite bizarre, excessive, and unbalanced if it did.
In our world today, it’s frowned upon to be a valiant man of God. It’s frowned upon to be bold in who God created you to be as a man. Our culture wants Christian men to go to their weekly church services and live a “politically correct” life outside of the church walls.
Whether you know it or not, addiction plays an enormous role in your life and the lives of those around you. From your connection to God to your family structure, a dependency on substances alters everything about who you are.
